Kids are always getting bumps and
bruises. But a parent's intuition knows when a bump isn't normal.
Karen McGregor noticed her son had
some weird spots, and remembered a post she had seen on Facebook a few days
earlier. She took her son to the doctor right away, and they confirmed her
suspicions: Lyme Disease.
Her post has been shared almost
200,000 times, and doctors confirmed that the Lyme Disease would have been from
a tick bite 3-4 weeks prior. Since McGregor noticed the bumps early on, doctors
are hopeful that the antibiotics will cure the infection.
Especially now that it is summer, the
ticks are out. Keep an eye out for ticks and rash spots that are shaped like a
bullseye. Make sure to use bug spray on yourself and your family, and add flea
and tick prevention to your pet's routine.
